Jacob T. Zack is a playwright from New Jersey.
Jacob crafts comedic meditations on language, alienation, and the human condition.
Jacob’s work includes Proclivity for Kiting (B-Street Theater), Geronimo (The Slate Theater), Verisimilitude (NJ Repertory Company), The Roast (The Slate Theater, Sylvia Center for the Arts, Artists’ Exchange, B-Street Theater), Zoo Theory (NJ Repertory Company, Appalachian State University), The Break Room (Stage Left Theater), To The Beat! (Funhouse VI), and The World is Sand (Spooky Action Theater, Open Roads Film Festival Honorable Mention). Jacob’s published works include Verisimilitude (Smith & Kraus), Zoo Theory (Smith & Kraus, Applause Theatre & Cinema Books).
Jacob’s absurdist comedy, Proclivity for Kiting, won the B-Street New Comedy Festival (2019). Jacob’s play, Merryborough, will be read by the Baltimore Playwrights’ Festival in 2025. Jacob’s newest play, For the Love of God, was selected as a semifinalist in the annual Risk Theatre competition and advanced to the second round of the Austin Film Festival Playwriting competition. Jacob is currently participating in “Uncovered Scenes from Ukraine” – a collaboration between Town Square Productions and Vinnytsia Theatre – where he is connecting with Ukrainians and crafting a play about their experience, to be potentially read in early 2025.
Jacob has been a member of the Dramatist Guild since 2017. Jacob’s work can be found on the National New Play Network (NNPN) New Play Exchange.
